SYLLABUS: MUSICOLOGY TOPPER EXAM

EXAM STRUCTURE & MARKING SYSTEM
For the Musicology topper exam, students must study the syllabus from the Musicology grade books. It consists of three main parts: 1) Technical exercises, 2) First performance piece, and 3) Second performance piece. Students are required to prepare two technical exercises and two songs from the book.
TECHNICAL STUDIES 1 & 2 40 MARKS
PERFORMANCE PIECE 1 30 MARKS
PERFORMANCE PIECE 2 30 MARKS
TOTAL MARKS 100 MARKS
JUNIOR LEVEL 1
KEYBOARD / VOCALS
1. Students have to prepare ANY 2 technical studies from 'Section C' of 'Junior Step 1 syllabus book'

2. Students have to prepare one song from 'Section A' of 'Junior Step 1 syllabus book'
​
3. Students have to prepare one song from 'Section B' of 'Junior Step 1 syllabus book' OR any 'Free Chice Piece'

JUNIOR LEVEL 2
KEYBOARD / VOCALS
1. Students have to prepare ANY 2 technical studies from 'Section C' of 'Junior Step 2 syllabus book'

2. Students have to prepare one song from 'Section A' of 'Junior Step 2 syllabus book'

3. Students have to prepare one song from 'Section B' of 'Junior Step 1 syllabus book' OR any 'Free Chice Piece'
SENIOR: LEVEL 1

* Drums students have to prepare ANY 3 technical studies from the book
